Postman Is a Visionary in the 2022 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™
It’s that time of year again: Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Full Lifecycle API Management season! For the second straight year, Gartner® has recognized the Postman API Platform as a Visionary across the enterprise API lifecycle. The Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ plays a significant role in helping enterprise organizations move beyond the early phase of their API journey and become more API-aware, so we are happy to have Gartner® acknowledge our vision of what API-first means to businesses across industries.
Our position in the Magic Quadrant™ is a testament to how our platform approach differentiates us from the previous generation of API management providers. First, Postman Collections and workspaces foster collaboration between developers, enabling them to build better products and services. Next, our support of multiple gateways through integrations with Azure API Management, AWS API Gateway, and Apigee is the future of enterprise API operations. We are also pleased to be noticed for our Private API Network, which advances our evolutionary approach to API discovery and portals, as well as our innovative Partner Workspaces, which help organizations expand beyond the firewall. Finally, the Magic Quadrant™ has started to reflect an important trend that we see across our customer base of 20 million developers: RESTful APIs are still the base of operations, but demand for GraphQL, gRPC, and WebSockets is increasing dramatically. Interoperability between these frameworks is crucial—especially as teams begin to build APIs that are products, rather than just integrations between existing legacy systems.
We are also excited to share our new innovations for API Security and Governance, as well as our native Git support and the Postman CLI, with customers and Gartner®. These features allow us to deepen our layered platform approach to a consistent API lifecycle for both consumers and producers. They also help teams integrate Postman with their existing investments in source control, CI/CD, gateways, and APM, so that they can deliver high-quality APIs to other internal teams, partners, and third-party developers.
