Announcing the Postman Accredited Seller: our first global partner sales accreditation
APIs are no longer background plumbing. As API conversations move from developer tooling to board-level strategy and agentic initiatives, partners need more than a product overview. They need the technical fluency to match.
That’s why we’re introducing the Postman Accredited Seller, the first global sales accreditation within the Postman Partner Program.
Why we built it
The nature of customer conversations has shifted.
A discussion that begins with API testing often expands quickly: How do we enforce design consistency across 50 teams? How do we fold the API lifecycle into CI/CD? How do we govern APIs at scale before they ship? And, increasingly: how do we expose our APIs so AI agents can discover and consume them on their own?
These questions have real technical answers. Partners who can engage with them credibly build trust, accelerate deal cycles, and position Postman more effectively against the alternatives.
The 2025 Postman State of the API Report identified a real gap: 55% of organizations struggle with inconsistent API documentation, and 34% report being unable to find APIs that already exist inside their own organizations. These aren’t philosophical problems. They’re operational failures with measurable cost. Partners who understand how Postman’s governance, catalog, and collaboration features address them can speak to outcomes, not just features.
The Postman Accredited Seller program gives partners that foundation.
What’s included
Sales Foundations course
The curriculum covers the fundamentals of Postman’s platform, the customer challenges it addresses, and the key use cases and value propositions partners need to communicate.
The course helps sellers understand how Postman supports organizations across the API lifecycle, and how those capabilities translate into customer outcomes. The goal is practical: partners who complete it should be able to connect a customer’s technical challenges to specific Postman capabilities, and speak to business outcomes rather than feature lists.
AI-powered pitch scoring
To reinforce the learning, participants complete an accreditation exercise built on AI-powered pitch evaluation that supports pitches delivered in any major language, which makes accreditation accessible to partners worldwide.
The evaluation benchmarks how clearly and accurately sellers communicate Postman’s value in a customer conversation: making the business case, connecting platform capabilities to customer outcomes, and positioning Postman’s story with confidence. Scoring and structured feedback help participants refine their pitch before they take it into the field.
The Accredited Seller badge
On completion, participants earn the Postman Accredited Seller badge, which recognizes individuals who have demonstrated working knowledge of Postman’s platform and can position it credibly in customer conversations.
Preparing partners for the AI agent era
The stakes are higher than they’ve ever been.
AI agents, software that reasons, plans, and acts across systems, reach the outside world almost entirely through APIs. The Model Context Protocol (MCP) has become the open standard for how agents discover and call external tools and data sources, and thousands of public MCP servers are already in use, each one an API an agent can invoke.
For enterprise customers, this means the APIs they build and manage today are not just developer tools. They’re the infrastructure that AI agents will rely on tomorrow. The quality of API documentation, the consistency of API design, and the maturity of API governance directly determine whether those agents can function reliably.
Postman’s position here goes beyond infrastructure. The Postman AI Agent Builder lets teams turn any existing collection into a production-ready MCP server, so the API documentation and tests a team has already built in Postman become tools an agent can discover and call directly. Customers aren’t just preparing their APIs for other people’s agents. They’re building agents themselves, on the same platform.
Partners who understand this connection are equipped for a category of customer conversation that didn’t exist three years ago. They can speak to Postman’s role in building well-documented, consistently designed, and governed API portfolios, and in powering the agents that consume them.
As Matt Gray, Head of Channels and Alliances at Postman, explains:
“We’re entering an era where AI agents are becoming a new consumer of software, changing how businesses discover, integrate, and deliver digital experiences. The Postman Accredited Seller badge equips our partners to lead those conversations with customers and capitalize on one of the biggest opportunities in the market today.”
Why this matters now
Postman is building for the agent era alongside its partners, and the ground partners sell on keeps expanding.
In June 2026, Postman achieved the AWS AI Competency in Agentic AI Tools, which recognizes its role in helping teams build, test, and govern the APIs behind production AI systems on AWS. That work shows up in the tools developers already use. The Postman MCP server is available in Kiro, AWS’s spec-driven agentic IDE, so a developer can reach Postman workspaces, collections, environments, and tests from inside their coding environment without switching context. Postman Agent Mode runs on Amazon Bedrock, and the Postman API Catalog integrates with Amazon API Gateway.
Postman is expanding on other fronts too. In April 2026 it announced a collaboration with Microsoft that adds AI model choice in Agent Mode, extends the Postman MCP server across the Microsoft developer ecosystem, and connects the API Catalog with Azure API Management. Its acquisition of Fern deepened Postman’s API documentation capabilities.
Each of these gives customers more governance, wider catalog reach, and new ways to turn their APIs into agent-ready tools. The direction is broad: Gartner expects 40% of enterprise applications to embed task-specific AI agents by the end of 2026, up from less than 5% a year earlier. As that surface area grows, so does the gap between a partner who can position it and one who can’t.
That gap matters most for the partners who take Postman to market. Adaptavist, a long-standing Postman channel partner that delivers API consulting and implementation, is exactly the kind of partner whose customer conversations now reach well beyond API testing into governance and agent-readiness. The Postman Accredited Seller gives partners like Adaptavist a consistent foundation for those conversations.
A milestone for the partner program
The Postman Accredited Seller is the first step in a formal accreditation framework designed to help partners build verifiable expertise, demonstrate technical credibility, and accelerate their success with Postman.
As customers evaluate API platforms not just for developer productivity but for AI readiness, platform standardization, and organizational governance, the bar for partner conversations will keep rising. This program helps our partners rise with it.
