Collaborate in Real Time with Anyone in the World Using Public Workspaces

Avatar

Since we introduced Postman public workspaces, our vision has been to create the first massively multiplayer API experience that enables API producers to collaborate with anyone in the world—across organizational and team boundaries. But this collaboration is often asynchronous because API producers don’t always have the right tools to work together in real time with their broader community of API consumers. So, we’ve been adding features to change this. Today, we are enabling you to collaborate with anyone in the global API community who is accessing the same public workspace, whether or not they are on your team.

See who is in the same public workspace—then collaborate in real time

When you are inside a public workspace, you will now be able to see and collaborate with other Postman users who are also in the same workspace. These other users don’t need to be on the same team as you, which makes it possible to share ideas in the moment with anyone in the world.

When you go to any page in a public workspace, you can see the public Postman profiles of active users in the list of avatars at the top. If you have chosen to keep your profile private, your profile will be shown as an “Anonymous” space element.

What about private and team workspaces?

This update does not affect private and team workspaces. You can continue to work in real time with just your team members the same as before.

Conclusion

This feature is yet another stepping stone towards making public workspaces even more of a powerful place for real-time collaboration and community. Try it out and let us know what you think—we want your feedback so that we can continue to improve Postman’s collaboration capabilities.
