# Leading API Providers Reveal Their Favorite Postman Things

At the start of this year, the Postman team told us about some of [their favorite Postman features](https://blog.postman.com/our-favorite-postman-things/). It was really cool to find out what people had to say, so then I decided to go outside of our team and ask some of the leading API providers to tell me their favorites. Some people picked features used in *producing* APIs, like for productivity and team collaboration. Other people picked features geared towards *consuming* APIs, like to explore and learn new APIs. Take a look at their favorites, and then learn how you can tell us your own favorite to win some sweet Postman swag in our latest contest.

## Here are some API providers’ favorite Postman things

- **Workspaces**: [Philippe Ozil](https://twitter.com/PhilippeOzil) from [Salesforce](https://www.postman.com/salesforce-developers) chooses public workspaces. Salesforce manages [one of the most popular workspaces](https://www.postman.com/salesforce-developers/workspace/34382471-0c97-40e5-a206-f947271665c4/overview) in the [Postman API Network](https://www.postman.com/explore). Thousands of developers fork their public collections to develop applications and integrations using their APIs.
- **Flows**: [Beth Marshall](https://twitter.com/Beth_AskHer) from Ada Health likes Postman’s low-code, no-code way to build API workflows, called [Flows](https://github.com/postmanlabs/postman-flows/discussions). It’s a brand-new feature, still in beta, but she is already imagining the possibilities and [teaching others how to use Flows](https://www.linkedin.com/posts/beth-marshall_postman-flows-5-example-flows-activity-6876114002112479232-wgw-/).
- **Variables and code generation**: [Anthony Dombrowski](https://twitter.com/akatsdombrowski) from [Ping Identity](https://www.postman.com/ping-identity) can’t pick just one, and chooses [environment variables](https://learning.postman.com/docs/sending-requests/managing-environments/) and [code generation](https://learning.postman.com/docs/developer/code-generators/) to replicate API calls in his preferred programming language or framework.
- **Run in Postman API**: [Joel Lord](https://twitter.com/joel__lord) from [MongoDB](https://www.postman.com/mongodb-devrel) is a fan of [the Run in Postman button API](https://learning.postman.com/docs/publishing-your-api/run-in-postman/run-button-API/). MongoDB updated their developer portal to prefill Postman environments with a user’s personal credentials when they fork the MongoDB public collection.
- **Collections**: [Deepa Goyal](https://twitter.com/1sprintatatime) from [PayPal](https://www.postman.com/paypal) picks a crowd favorite, [Postman Collections](https://learning.postman.com/docs/sending-requests/intro-to-collections/). She particularly likes how she can discover and try out new APIs by browsing the Postman API Network.
- **History**: [Nicolas Greni](https://twitter.com/picsoung)é from [Typeform](https://www.postman.com/typeform) relies on the [History](https://learning.postman.com/docs/getting-started/navigating-postman/#history) as a way to revisit and reuse previously sent requests without creating every call from scratch.
- **Collections**: [Kedasha Kerr](https://twitter.com/itsthatladydev) from [Lacework](https://www.postman.com/lacework) is another proponent of collections. Their team recently launched the [Lacework public workspace](https://www.postman.com/lacework/workspace/lacework/api/4469ccbb-ea55-49b4-a505-8d6823b42dc5) to help new API users in their journey.
- **Mock servers**: [Daniele Bernardi](https://twitter.com/i_am_daniele) from [Twitter](https://www.postman.com/twitter) and his cat are exploring [mock servers](https://learning.postman.com/docs/designing-and-developing-your-api/mocking-data/setting-up-mock/) as a way to deploy an API from an OpenAPI definition and get developers started more quickly.
- **OAuth 2.0 helper**: [Jeremy Thake](https://twitter.com/jthake) from [Microsoft](https://www.postman.com/microsoftgraph) highlights the [OAuth 2.0 authorization helper](https://learning.postman.com/docs/sending-requests/authorization/#oauth-20) to get developers up and running, since authentication is one of the first obstacles when working with a new API.
- **Pull requests**: [Marcel Ribas](https://twitter.com/macribas) from [Google](https://www.postman.com/google-maps-platform) knows the challenges of collaborating within a team, and appreciates [pull requests](https://learning.postman.com/docs/collaborating-in-postman/version-control/) among the version-control capabilities to keep track of contributions and updates.
- **Scripts**: [Charles Watkins](https://twitter.com/charlesw_dev) from [Stripe](https://www.postman.com/stripedev) decides that [defining variables in scripts](https://learning.postman.com/docs/sending-requests/variables/#defining-variables-in-scripts) is a winner to programmatically pass along variables throughout a sequence of API calls.
